Got my oil changed today, never again

I tried to Google whether it is illegal to plug a tire and got nothing but unsupported opinions. Many said only in the sidewalls. Some said only the mushroom shaped plugs were illegal. Some said only in motorcycles or trucks.

It seems like some jurisdictions that do auto inspections MAY have rules outlawing some plugs but I have been unable to find this in writing.

What I did find out was that now it is illegal to use lead wheel weights in California, Washington, Maine and Vermont.

Thats just insane. for the few weights that have become missing in my 30 plus years.
Lead. weights....what next?

Lead sinkers for fishing. Lead shot for waterfowl it already gone.

Lead is some dangerous stuff. I know it works and I know it is convenient, but just because it is the cheapest, best material for the job doesn't mean we should continue to use it.
