Got my woods blower back after a month

I have no affiliation with Messicks, but there are tons of people on here that have good things to say about them. it seems to me that the best way to resolve what sounds like a very legitimate problem is not in a public forum. I would talk to one of the owners instead of flaming them.

SO after over a month of waiting for my unused woods sb 72 blower that had a bad auger sprocket I get it back from messicks today. Guess what, new auger, worse sprocket. This is a joke, its worse than before. Even the delivery guy was calling out thier shop saying theres no way it was normal and should have not left. It was obvious regardless of words, no one tested this thing, in fact I feel blatently lied too as I was assured it was all good to go, night and day difference. Service manager started to tell me it might be the nature of the beast to which I said BS. For 4 grand someone can weld a sproket on true. The last one was bad enough to replace and this one is worse, so how is it normal now? I put it back on the truck and sent it back. They are contacting woods factory reps at this point but either way Im fed up and have a feeling Ill be asking for my money back. DONT BUY A WOODS BLOWER! Sorry, Im peeved. Any reccomendations for a blower ill probably order for next winter?

Boy what a deal! You order a new, name brand blower from a reputable dealer and 5 months later you get a defective machine. The dealer attempts to fix it and botches the job. Sounds like a Keystone Cops comedy. You were right in refusing delivery and sending it back.

I think I'd ask for a full refund and go somewhere else to buy another brand of blower that you can examine and check out at the sellers. At the rate you're going you'll get the snowblower AFTER the BIG ONE!

Sorry to hear of your difficulties. You've shown a lot of patience.

I do appologize for your frustrations. There is no excuse for us to send out somthing like that without running it first. Looking at the computer i see you've talked to Don Flory today, and Rick Harmer called you on 4 occasions. I hope everything is moving along for a proper resolution. If your not finding satisifaction feel free to contact our corporate service manager, Walt Newcomer... or Bryan Messick who is the store manager. The number is 800-222-3373. Email is also good, BryanM or WaltN at Messicks.com. I'm also always up for a good whipping, but I'm out of the office for the next few days.

Thank you for the contact info. Please let me set the record straight for anyone follwing this thread series. Messicks has been nothing but helpful, and I am glad I at least have a reputable dealer on my side. They have followed fairly standard procedure as far as handling the issue from the beginning. I nor would anyone really expect them to test run every attachment that goes out as new. Especially coming from a reputable company like Woods. So that being said, when the problem was discovered, it was quickly picked up. My salesman went out of his way to solve a few part related order issues as well. The service dept. has been kind and responsive and there was good communication. The delay was mainly due to woods being out of stock on the auger. Im stating all of this because I dont want this turned into dealer bashing or company bashing. Ive owned quite a few good Woods products. My posting was out of pure frustration with the entire situation.

Where I find fault is that this machine was allowed to leave in the same condition it came in. I do not personally believe it was test run, or at least viewed by someone who could make a call and say it was night and day difference. I have two videos on my Iphone showing identical issues on both augers.

I have been contacted and told the woods regional rep is now involved and thier snowblower engineer (rather than a standard tech engineer) would be out next week to look at the unit. If they are able to correctly fix the problem in a timely fashion I will consider this a bad apple and call it a day. If they tell me its normal, then I will be asking for a refund on the unit as its workmanship to me is unacceptable. Im being as flexable as I am about this due in part to the abnormal weather weve had. I will say if we were getting hammered with snow and I didnt have a blower I ordered in july, I would be furious. So were all kind of lucky here.
I will post the outcome next week, good luck to those getting some snow, thanks to Messicks for chiming in and hope everyone has a great weekend!

Please understand this was not intended as "flaming". It has been a series of three threads originating as a question to whether my blowers operation was normal or not. Over the last month and a half it has turned more into a progress report. There is no bashing going on, just frustration. The reason of going public is to raise awareness of a possible widespread woods blower issue before someone else gets to have the fun I am. I hope I cleared everything up with my previous post.

Maybe the dealer has a used blower on their lot that they could loan you incase it does snow. With the number of people involved in that situation, I bet you will need that blower before they get it fixed. If you have a blower to use, then they can take the time needed to get the problem fixed correctly.

I appreciate the time and effort you took to clarify the situation and expand on your thoughts. I hope for a satisfactory resolution, as the opportunity for a speedy resolution has passed.

And Murphy was an optimist!

Ive been following this thread for a while and cant believe after all the hassle you've been through and then they installed the auger and never even tried it out umm can you say duhhhh .If i were you i would get your money back money now with no more chances and they would not get one more penny from me.

Think about it do you really want this same company doing maintenance on your tractor? (ooops forgot to add OR CHECK the oil sorry about your motor you can call so and so if you want at (1 800 xxx xxxx give me a break). The owner should be all over this problem you have here!

I still cant believe they never tried it that's a poor excuse for a service department If i were the owner of that business that would be the last time that EVER happened. They are probably too big to effectively manage their operations or just simply take the close enough approach.

If WOODS and Messick's truly cared about their customers they would cease all sales of that product until this problem is all figured out.You should have gotten a refund a long time ago on this product so you could get a new blower to maintain your property this winter.Geesh summer will be here before they have this issue fixed at thier pace.

I actually had a salesman steer me away from Woods blowers when i was looking at them and that was enough said for me.For some reason they don't get it when it comes to blowers. The Canadian manufactures seem to be far superior in the world of blowers.

I would be going after my refund TODAY!:2cents: good luck keep us posted

I can understand you being frustrated. You spend hard earned money and you want it to work. Hopefully you haven't had a lot of snow to deal with. For me this year has been very light but last year at this time I would have been up **** creak if I didn't have my blower.

I have the Kubota (rad) blower and it's worked great. I have nothing bad to say about it. But it's a front mount so maybe the rear mount blowers are different.
