Hey highbeam, a one ton would be nice. I'm really glad to have a full size back. Really nice to be able to hook up to heavy loads without a lot of drama. The 4x4 is also handy as my ranger is 2x4 and it's nice to have the 4x4 on those nasty snowy days when I need to get to the office in town.

The miniboss always loves rides in the big truck and she likes riding when plowing the driveway.

Good luck with your truck, post a pic when you get a chance.

*Well I finaly found a truck that will plow my driveway and tow my Kioti. A sparkly 1986 Ford F250 with a 351 motor and fisher minute mount plow. Joel
*Are you going to put a flat bed on it too or are you just going to go ahead and use the bed that's on it since it looks to be in good shape?

Hey Brown,

I'll leave the bed on for now, but I will be needing to replace the front gas tank (leaks now, of no use), at that time I might just pull the bed off and replace with a flat bed. The flat bed is super easy to load and unload with forklifts and the like.

Is not as usefull for gravel and the like, but those places are close to my house and I usually get delivered.

With that said, I'm always on the lookout for a cheap dump body I can pull off of a parts type truck and mount onto my chasis.

1*
2*I was thinking removable side boards and tailgate for hauling dirt gravel and such.
3*I usually only get/need 2 or 3 thosand pounds at a time.
getting a dump truck to haul such small amounts is both inconvient and expensive.
With a dump pick up and a trailer I could haul a ton or so on each vehicle and do pretty good.
Another thing I'm looking at is I need the truck/trailer to trasport my tractor to various small jobs/projects.
Some task may require removal of dirt from the site which I can always use for projects here around the house.
If there's anything I like better than free fill dirt it's also getting paid to create it and load it.:)
In these situations waiting hours or days on a dump truck just isn't practical.
Also hiring a dump truck would not work because there would be nothing on the site to load the dumptruck with.
However my bx23 would be there to load my pick up and trailer with.

Seems it would be pretty simple to just scoop or push / pull Dirt and Gravel off the side or rear of the bed with
My BX23 using the fel and the BH with this attachment.

I see this as a huge advantage of a flat bed over a regular pick up bed.

One thing to keep in mind is to be sure you've got enough dump height on the loader to load the truck.

My prior tractor, a kubota B6000E's loader could not really dump into a 1/2 ton as the tractor was a little to small, not sure on the BX?

A*I have a few ways / ideas to get around that.
1*Buid a dirt ramp along side the truck.
6 to 12 inches high would probably do it.
2*Load the truck from the rear and push the dirt on up toward the front with this back hoe attachment.

3*Simply load the truck with the back hoe.
4*Go with a flat bed equals no sides to lift over thus a lower lift hight required.

I'd like to know if any TBN members have ever loaded a full size Pick Up with dirt etc with a BX or the JD and MF equivelents; and how and if it worked.
