Got enough ponds already so I'm going to use it to rearrange some terrain, such as skimming off old terraces in the hay fields and filling in the dips. . .

OK, I admit it. I just plain wanted a dirt pan and I didn't want a little one. Plus I needed a bigger tractor with a cab and AC for round baling next year. So there you go, the tractor is multipurpose (and huge) and the pan is sort of huge but it was cheap!

The difference between men and boys is the size of their toys, right?? (grin)

Trust me, if I lived near that thing and the price was like that, I would have bought it :D

Just it would have been about 100 times more expensive in the UK

Great looking tractor and scraper.

You got an excellent price on that TW-30, which retails around $10,500 or better. Nice going.

You also got a nice price on the trucking. How many miles was the tractor hauled?

Did you use one of those Internet escrow services? PayPal? Any problems with the transaction?

... I want to upload pics but the photo gallery won't let me log in. Any suggestions? I'm using the same username and pw as for the forums. Tried pm'ing the moderator but no answer.

If Photobucket becomes frustrating Gabby, try Google's Picasa. It's simple, it works and it doesn't have a lot of unnecessary bells & whistles.

I gave up on TBN's photo gallery because I ran into the same problem as you and the moderators never returned requests for help.

That is one big tractor and dirt eater! You'll have lots of fun with those things... Thanks for the pics!

Erik/Grrr, try satellite... Its expensive ($59.99/month), but worth it... I was used to cable modem when I moved further into the woods, so I had to get it! Is it available in England?

I think the haul was about 1000 miles including the second stop in TN. I used the trucking company that hauls new JD tractors from the nearby assembly plant in Grovetown so they used it as a backhaul. Worked out very well.

No I didn't use an escrow service or Paypal and there weren't any problems. I wire tranferrred the money to the sellers.

I also bought my 335 Ford industrial loader tractor on Ebay a few years ago and it worked out OK.

I've learned to spend the first month chasing boogers and replacing stuff on used tractors that I've bought. I fugure that as long as the major mechanical stuff is working I can get the small stuff fixed and come out OK.

I also bought a factory rebuilt diesel engine for my 4600 Ford on Ebay a few years ago. Still in the factory crate with factory tags. $2000 including shipping. It was a buy it now item and I bought it quickly. It was part of an estate. Paid for it with Paypal.

I have never seen satelite availible in England but I could be wrong.

We will have to look into getting something better than what we got now...

British Telecoms said they could bring us another 56K modem and join them together....

That's been a feature in Microsoft for a number of years, going back to Win98 IIRC. You do need a separate phone line for each modem, but it does work to double the bandwidth.
