got tongue weight?

personally I use a Sherline Trailer Tongue Weight Scale - Sherline Products don't remember, but I think I have the 5,000lbs one. Easy enough to change... 1 square inch piston just means putting in a different size pressure gauge & pressure = weight 1 to 1. Probably more effort to use, but much more portable & adaptable to other junk.

I use the Sherline also, along with Weigh-Safe Trailer Hitches - Towing Peace of Mind in the 2.5" shank model when setting up a new trailer. Both models approximately agree with each other on the tested tongue weights.

I was scrolling down the thread and was going to ask how would you go about measuring exactly what the tongue weight was, then saw this.

I have a 10k trailer with a 7k jack. Loaded with a tractor that weighs 5,700 lbs I would still be able to jack it up safely correct?

I assume you mean with the tongue jack. Should not be a problem as the weight is distributed on the jack and trailer/axles. Your trailer is probably 2800# - 3200# empty, depending upon any mounted boxes with stored items. Tongue weight loaded is probably ~ 900# - 1400 # (10% - 15% of towed weight) if loaded correctly. Mine is similar but a bit heavier and have no issues.

Yes, with the tongue jack. Trailer is 2,650 lbs empty.
