BX 1860, had it a couple of months. 38 hours. I've had pretty good luck mounting/dismounting the loader, but today was different. I wrestled with it for almost an hour and gave up. When I came back I noticed I'd bent the bracket on the right side. :( Now I gotta figure out some way to bend it back...

Here's the left side, which is straight:

and here's the right side, bent:

Hmmm...I wonder if Kubota insurance covers this? My dealer said it'd cover driving into a pond or dropping firewood on the hood, even if 100% operator error. If you have the insurance, maybe you can get them to foot the bill for welding a new bracket on.

Aiieeee Caramba Lucy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Why did you not weld some gussetts on that lower tube stock to connect with the pin mounts to hold them in place????!!!!!!

You Got Some Splaining To Do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About bending it back the quick and the easy way is to use some Mapp Gas,
Lowes has a complete "Bernz O Matic" kit with its own ignitor head built in and its pretty reasonable from what I remember.

The gas makes a lot of concentrated heat making wacking the offending weldment easy and bending it with a piece of bar stock the size of the upper pin bore.

This ranks right up there with the messing with of the fuel timing on the BX's to make the EPA happy.

Edit: when you get the loader back on I am almost positive you will find the boom arms and bucket are wracked and are no longer square:^( best to check this with the bucket off.

Just looking at these photos and the Kubota website, it looks like there are two different BX bracket designs... one for the BX25 that has reinforcement at the back against lateral movement and one for the other BX models that does not, as shown here. Is that right? The larger Kubota's and older BX models have a U-shaped wrap around design that at least seems heavier.

Even so, it's hard to see how it got bent like that. Not trying to put you on the spot, George, but what comes to mind are things like driving off or raising it with one pin still in, or backing into it with the truck. Did it come that way from the dealer, maybe? That would be unbelievably bad dealer prep.

I believe a sledge would fix that one.

I was having trouble hooking it up, got frustrated, and lifted it with one pin in, so it's totally my fault. I'm pretty disgusted with myself, that's for sure.

It does liik like you should be able to rebend it pretty easily. If it bent lifting it , you should be able to rebend it. Then id add gusset pieces as stated earlier. That bent WAY to easily

How do you figure? If you only put one pin in you are putting extreme amounts of stress on the bracket.

I'm kind of surprised you didn't break it. Is it a cast piece of steel? If so bending it back may make it weak. I would call the dealer and ask how much it costs, if it's not too bad I would just replace it and save myself the headache of trying to get it straight.

I found that mounting and dismounting the loader is much easier on flat concrete. It's the ground being crooked relative to the tractor that gets you hung up.
