This is my first post on your Forum. Discovered the site today while trying to resolve an issue. Have a 2011 GR2110 with 148 hours. It's new to me at 100 hours. I have reasonable/ decent mechanical aptitude and repair much of my stuff ( cycles and vintage car). My first diesel and first lawn tractor. Was easy mowing today (after some tough work last week) and noticed a loss of power with PTO engaged...subsequently got a rough idle and after that without mower engaged even worse until I lost all capacity to run. Tucked it on my trailer and took it back into the garage.
It seems to me there is a water pump mounted on the fan at the back of the engine and just above the main drive. I have a scary amount of coolant leaking and am hoping this isnt with oil as well. I need some comfort conversation... I was getting to really like this little machine: is it trash?
questions: should i take that to the dealer for service.? is this a typical problem? Is it a cracked bock? Is it gaskets or the pump itself? Is it a small enough project that Id save tons doing myslef or are there too many little fixes ands parts to go along with it (in dissaembly) that its worth it to get it professionally service (to be secure).
Thanks for any help. Links, tips, warnings etc all welcome thanks J
