Hi gang,
I've been tearing my hair (all 3 of them) out the last couple of days on this one.
The GR2120 started to blow the 10A fuse ("IG/M") and shut down. It would restart, but w/that fuse out, it wouldn't stop. I found the shut-off solenoid, thankfully.
Long story short: the headlamp wiring harness can droop down and contact the exhaust manifold. It had melted through and was intermittently shorting to the manifold. The harness is attached to the hood so it isn't instantly obvious that wires could contact hot metal w/the hood closed.
It was just dumb "luck" that I accidentally bumped the headlight switch to "ON" and discovered this.
I can hay-wire an easy fix, but it isn't clear given the way things are set up how to keep the repaired harness off of the hot parts. Discussing this with the dealer now, and I'll post back.
Just a heads-up to that rare owner with a GR.
Later,
Z.
