Have a Kubota L45. Want to buy a grapple for mainly brush removable. Need a good brand Probably a 72".

Unable to say which is best, but don't get a real heavy one, or one setup and listed as a root rake. My buddy installed one that weights about 1000 pounds on his 65hp JD. The thing is made with dozer teeth on the bottom, heavy steel with serrations on the inside (like teeth). The point is the grapple weights is about a 1/3 of what the loader can lift, so this reduces the amount it can carry. The loader is not strong enough to be able to use the teeth as a root rake, and if it is used this way, the tractors loader arms are going to get bent.

Use it just for picking up brush and fallen trees

The L45 TLB is a capable machine, but stick with a strong, yet lightweight grapple if you want to maintain the tractor's agility and lifting ability.

We specialize in designing and manufacturing grapples which do just that, so I can recommend the BEST grapple for guys with subcompact tractors up to 100+ horsepower machines.

Our 400 pound Wicked 60 has been VERY popular lately. AR400 tine construction and DOM tubing is a VERY strong, winning combination unheard of in the Industry!

I'm always willing to chat on the phone and help recommend the best grapple for customer's tractors and applications.

Speaking from experience, I would favor a gapple with the two separate upper jaws over a single, full length one.

Agree on the two separate upper jaws.

Double jaws even if mostly smaller brush as well as med sized crabapple trees?

I have a single jaw clam shell style. Works great on both brush and logs. Since using my grapple, I have concluded that the difference between any grapple, be it brand or style, is likely marginal unless you have some specialized use. They all work great. I'd focus on weight and steel type. ETA uses all A400 steel which is the best. There are some others brands that do as well, but most do not.

Take a look at a Tomahawk 72" . I have the 78"- it has greasable hinges, dual jaws, and is made of 1/2" , not 3/8" steel. You can get one for about $1100 here in Pa20181026_114133.jpegtomahawk-hd-grapple-03.jpeg

Agree, they all work, find your best price.
Have used single clam shell on a JD and it work just fine. Picked up several trees with no issue. Land Pride makes some nice ones also made from A400, or at least that's what they say

EA hands down is your best bang for the buck. Best materials, professional fabrication, excellent shipping prices, and customer service second to none.
I've got two of them, dual lid root and a root rake, both 60". I had a 72" but sold it and went with 60" for more torque when working/digging and the 60" fits inside my loader bucket for traveling. I work them both pretty hard. If you wait to order when spring arrives, you'll be in a long line.
