Distancing has required innovative graduation celebrations in rural communities. My great-niece texted me and said, "Uncle Mike, can you take me in the graduate parade on your tractor?" So I spent the day washing and polishing, then headed in to town where Katrina and I added graduation decor. Her graduation picture on the sign is with one of her uncle's highest rated Holsteins. Others had side by sides, antique cars from the 60s (hey, that's when I graduated) etc. Katrina in the tractor did get the most attention judging by the shouting and waving. Nothing like a rural graduation with graduates on a tractor.

It has been a really trying time and very costly in so many ways. Yet so many people have come up with neat ideas and proven we are adaptable. We will see changes that come from this, some will be great and some will be unnecessary burdens. I expect to see working from home or remote employee situations become more common. I expect to see home schooling get a boost from this. Also expect to see less restaurants. Don't look for politicians kissing babies this year (a good thing by far to me). I expect to see more people exiting the big cities. Hope we see truth in telling where a product is made and not just assembled. Hope we see such as medicines moved back at least a decent amount of production to here and not by a country who is our enemy.

Well done! Congratulations Katrina.

(For what it's worth, she can boast that she received 'congrats' all the way from Tasmania :))

OUTSTANDING!!!

That's the way to do it.

One of our local high schools here, did graduation in an empty stadium with only a few members of the immediate family and a school official present.

The drive-by parades, or just drive-by in general, I think is a good way to show appreciation and support!

Good for you, Uncle Mike!
