Well, whatever is bothering him, he is correct in stating that he has the right to state whatever opinion he wants to. No question 'bout that. But those who read his opinions have the right to react, be it positively or negatively. Unavoidable. Been that way for thousands of years.
Now this is an interesting, interesting post (in my opinion) .
This gets to the heart of what's really "bugging" me. (Or should I say, what I am allowing to bug me. Or should I just say, it doesn't really "bug" me, it's just something that I would like to see change?)
When it is said that we have a right to react negatively, I can't and won't argue with that. But is it in the best interest of ourselves, our fellow man, or the world, that we make the conscious choice to react negatively? Just because something has been going on for thousands of years doesn't mean (to me) that it is a desirable thing. We are capable of reacting any way we make up our minds to react, or we can choose not to react at all.
Consider Bruce Hornsby's song, "(That's Just) The Way It Is." "Some things will never change, that's just the way it is". He was talking about racial prejudice in that song, but it applies to everything. Money in politics? Hey, that's just the way it is. T'was ever thus. Hatred, anger, hostility, judgmentalism, lack of forgiveness? Hey, that's just the way human beings are; that's just the way it is. You can't change it.
Well, I can change myself. And maybe in doing so, I can change someone else. And maybe he can then change someone else. And so on, and so on, and so on .... until "the way it is" ... is the way it WAS.

John Lennon & Paul McCartney
And just what IS so funny about peace, love and understanding. Ask Elvis Costello, I think he knows the answer.
U2: "Nothing changes, on New Year's Day". Or can it?
John Lennon again: "And so this is Christmas ... and what have you done? Another year over ... and a new one just begun ... .... so merry, merry Christmas ... and a happy new year .... let's hope it's a good one ..... without any fear.
Or war, or hate, or bigotry, or violence, or judgment, or lies, or killing .....
And don't get me started on "Imagine" .......
