Lawn King....I own the 3940 and have the same review of the machine as you do.
This is my first tractor and I was VERY intimidated about a farm tractor even though I'm very "mechanical" and do my own car and motorcycle work. All the bells and whistles add to a great machine. I tell my wife the tractor is a lot less money then sending me to a shrink! Let me go cut the pastures, dig a hole or chip a tree and I'll be just fine, thank you :D .
Like you, my only change would be the gas filler location. With the FEL attached I have to stand on the front tire and put a funnel in the filler neck so I don't pour the 5 gallons of million dollar fuel all over the tractor and ground.
And yes...I too have the QD for the bucket and also have forks.
I could use some more horse power, so if the lottery gods are smiling on me I'll switch to the 5740.
Go big or go home, that's what I always say

I'm a tractor novice, and taking delivery of a Grand L-4740-1 cab with the usual goodies next week, so you guys are making me feel even better about my purchase!

I learned a lot from the posters here, and I'm hoping that I'll be able to give back to this site as I learn to use the equipment I've chosen with "your" help.

Yeah..... i was kiddin anyway. NO WAY i'd be able to slide that one past Mrs. Ductape ! The 3030 is great..... really only done a little work around the yard so far though. I hope to have the hoe on it within a couple weeks though...... then i'll get a little real work done. Glad to see you are 100% happy with the new tractor..... especially after the initial water leak. Sure is a nice tractor !!:)

Regarding the fuel door location. When I bought my B7800 years ago there were many posts about how bad the location was for the fuel filler. It was dead center the back edge of the hood under the cross bar for the FEL. Many posts and hostile words. One guy wouldn't leave it alone and some were telling him to sell his Kubota and shut up. After filling it for three years I agree that it was a bad/terrible location. Traded for a L3240 and the location is much better. Still not "Grand". I use a 5 gallon container. I sit it on top of the hood beside the fuel door. I stick a $3.99 siphon tube in the container and the other end in the fuel hole. Lock top, squeeze and let it go. Lean container when near empty to get most of the fuel out. The siphon I use is usually sold at flea markets as a siphon for kerosene. Has Orange squeeze bulb, Small plastic screw top and one leg is rigid and the other side is flexible. Prices range from $1.99 to $5.99 depending on where you find it. I think I have seen the at Wal Mart/Big Lots. Treat then right and they will last for years. I finally started using these on the B7800 but FEL crossbar was still in the way but was still doable.

I wuv my twactor.

I want it to grow up to be a 5740 though.

Agreed about the bad location of the fuel fill. It's ok if I I'm at the fuel depot, you know, hose and nozzle and all that, but it's a pain when I have to use fuel cans.
