Holy overgeneralizations, Batman! To me, it's making a pretty big stretch to conclude that there are more problems with Kubota's HST+ based on a small number of TBN threads. Certainly you can go into the other brand forums and find one or more reports of an HST problem, but it doesn't mean you can generalize those either.
Keep in mind there are something over 18,000 TBN members that report owning Kubota equipment in their profiles, about 16,000 Deere owners, 2,000 with Kioti and 2,000 with Mahindra. Just statistically, your odds of hearing about a problem here would be almost 10 times greater with one of the major brands, so the 3 complaints you mention (one of which, if you read the thread, was just an adjustment issue), might not even have registered if it were a brand with less representation.
Sir, I never said there was MORE issues with this transmission vs another brand, I was just inquiring about the HST+, since there are a few issues reported. Its many more than 3 by the way. I just linked 3. But like you said, its usually an adjustment or something. Goggle 'Kubota HST+ issues' and see how many results are displayed. Another perpective would be out of all the HST tractors made by Kubota in the world, only 18k of them are represented here. A good sampling, but overall, not many. Like I said, I'm sure 99.9% are totally fine. With any man-made operating machine there wil be failures. Factor in maintenance and user error, its not unusual at all to have SOME reported issues with anything. I totally agree, more in operation mean more complaints, but proportionally speaking, issues seem quite low. I guess my question wasn't clear enough for some, I apologize for that. I was simply trying to discover if the added features of HST+ and the controls, electronic or otherwise, added enough complexity to cause above normal failures. From the feedback I've received, it doesn't appear so. Regardless of what I buy (most likely the Kubota) its a lot of money, at least for me. Personally, I believe it to be a valid question to ask owners of the tractor. I own a JD 450E dozer and often times people inquire about things like steering clutches and torque converters on this forum and others. Because I've had no issues with either one doesn't mean there aren't issues. Generally speaking, it comes down to maintenance and care vs abuse. When asked the question about these items or others I respect why the person is asking the question. I try not to make them feel petty for even asking. But, thats me. Thanks so much for the reply!
