Hi all,

I am considering modifying my vineyard sprayer with a hydraulic powered centrifugal pump. Currently have L3430 HSTC with LA723 FEL.

All I would want is the ability to turn pump on / off from inside cab using hydraulics. Could I use a closed / open center Hydraulic powered pump and plumb it to my existing system ?

My system is 8gpm flow wich is more than enough for the pump I have in mind. The question is how to plumb the hydraulics from my tractor.

Dealer wants $600 for the rear remote. I am confident with my ability to diy.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Thanks,

Tony

The hydraulic system on your tractor is open center, meaning that the tractor's pump is always pumping thus the fluid is always flowing.

It looks like you will need a single rear remote to do what you want to do. The factory remotes are expensive but the plumbing is nice and clean. However, the spool type you need is not offered.

You could also get a single spool non-factory valve and plumb it from the loader valve. This is a little more complicated but the type of spool your valve would need may necessitate going this route. On the Grand L series the loader hydraulic block contains all 3 connections so plumbing is not all that difficult. <ul type="square"> [*]At the hydraulic block, disconnect the hose that comes from the loader's power beyond port. I believe this is the rearward most hose (check with the manual to make sure). [*]Using a union fitting or just a longer hose, connect the just disconnected hose to your new valve's inlet port. [*]Connect your new valve's power beyond port to the hydraulic block where the loader power beyond hose was connected. [*]Connect your new valve's return to tank port to the hydraulic block's return to tank port using a tee fitting. I am not sure which port this is so you will have to check with the manual (I think it's the bottom port). This is the only line that can be teed with another. [/list] I posted the above info before and the original poster posted a picture of the hydraulic block but I can't seem to find the post.

The valve would have to be open center with power beyond. Since all you want is on/off a single acting spool would work ok, and you would want it configured without a spring return to center.

This is doable for the average DIY person with mechanical skills.

Mad,

Is this page the picture you are looking for?

That's it.

"C" is the port for the line that comes from the loader's power beyond port. "D" is the port that must get the tee connection for the aux valve's return to tank port.
