Ok, I've read the posts on 4 in 1 buckets and grapple buckets and have a better idea than I did before regarding the proper way to control the up/down motion of the grapple arms, but I still have a few questions for clarity.

I'm planning to get the QT Bucket on the M6800 or DK65 I will be buying in the next month. I also want to acquire a Root Grapple for all of it's awesome functionality.

Since the root grapple will require 6 seperate motions and most joystick loader valves support 4 motions. I'm trying to figure out exactly how much it will cost me to get one of the electric diverters I've seen discussed.

Does anyone have a website with a picture of the mechanism I need to purchase?? From what I understand, this mechanism is somehow plumbed into the existing 4 way valve with a button attached to the current loader control arm. To operate the up/down for the grapple arms, you press the electric diverter button, move the 4 way control arm (up/down or left/right???), then return to the middle and release the button. While doing this, you lose two of the loaders motions (boom up/down or curl up/down) until the button is depressed. Am I right so far??

If this solution is too technical to install or is too epensive, would it be a bad idea to use the remote hydraulic outlet and run hoses to the front of the tractor to be used for the grapple arm up/down?? In this case, you don't have the grapple arm controls on the current 4 way loader control, but you could use the rear remote control lever located to the right/left of the seat. Is this a bad idea??

Thanks for all of your help. Keith J

I just got an Kubota L3130 with an ATI grapple added to the Kubota bucket. I do not like the idea of an electric diverter valve so I had the plumbing brought forward from a rear valve with QDs at the loader mount and at the front of the loader boom since the loader is equiped with quick attach so this all works well.

Thanks for the response.

How are you controlling the grapple arms?? Are you using the rear hydraulic control lever that comes with the tractor, or did you try to more the lever as well. I assume if you ever wanted to hook up a rear implement that required hydraulics, you just unplug your plumbing currently being used for the ATI grapple.

I actually have 3 remotes installed. Circuit 1 goes to the back only, circuit 2 is teed and goes to the back and front, circuit 3 goes front only so I have the ability to control just about any implement I might need.

I have a grapple and it runs off a rear remote just fine. In fact I think I like it better than if it were joystick controlled. although I never used it with the joystick. It just seems natural with the remote. Especially with detent capable remotes. I believe both the tractors you are looking at have a detent on the remotes to hold the lever in place. And it is a very usefull tool to have

On my Kubota M6800 that is exactly what I did and it works great. You control the normal boom controls on the loader joystick and work the jaws on the grapple with the auxiliary handle.

On my TC40D I have a toggle switch mounted on my loader joystick which operates the grapple functions. It is an electric over hydraulic set-up known as a Fasse valve. Very slick set-up and works very well.

Great information. Thanks for all the replies. I think I'll use the rear remote to run the grapple arms since it comes with the tractor. That way, I don't have to fork out the money for the extra fasse valve.
