So I wanted a lighter weight grapple for my b2620 and I'm too cheap to buy one so I decided to build one myself. The parts were cut on a plasma table. I mainly wanted it for moving logs for firewood but figured it would come in handy for other things. Here is my progress so far.

Looking very nice.
I don't need a root grapple like you are building but was thinking of adding a grapple thumb to my bucket (see pic). I can't build one for the price they are selling them for. I would just have to have 2 hoses made up for my remotes. I have also considered buying a combo grapple / fork setup since I need to get QA forks too and that would kill two birds with one stone.

George, if I had to pay for the material and time on the plasma table I'm sure I could buy one cheaper. In my case I swap a little work with a customer of mine and my investment up until this point has only been my time. The hydraulics will cost something but not that bad.

I do the same (trade services) with some friends of mine but don't know anyone with a plasma table yet.
