Grapple for DK-40se/hst; best unit for $

If you look at the photo the grapple has just two heavy bottom tines. That means that any object less than about 24-30 inches in length will fall out. Not an issue for logs or trees or even bushes but it does limit the grapple in collecting rocks, cut firewood, construction debris, and also perhaps in digging out roots and brush. It looks very well made but is pretty clearly a specialized design.

What hp is the blue machine? It is a nice rig but the grapple takes it over the top! What size/weight is the grapple?

All true, though my primary uses are log lengths and bigger rocks, etc. As I already mentioned I may add some specialized lower tine bars for scooping up stuff like brush, etc. and a rock/stone screen of some kind could be very useful too. I want to see how it performs before modifications....

We should organize a grapple competition...the most weight thrown the greatest distance; just like gladiators:laughing:

I'm selling it due to the fact it doesn't grab enough material unless you stack it which is easy enough driving around using it like a shovel ,there are better units for the job at hand. I'm having a hard time trying to sell it no one seems to value its quality , or understand how much it weighs most guys answer my listing have tractors that can barely lift 1500 pounds to full height. I refuse to give it away I'll just keep using it ;-). the new unit I'm pricing is designed to move silage more contact points to grab material compare to my present unit which is more root rake and rock removal with a 2 inch spacing on the bottom 72 inches wide.

That grapple looks like it was intended for skidsteer use rather than as a general purpose tractor grapple. You might have more luck selling it to a construction company.

Yeah! Really nice machine and grapple. Don't give it away- unless its to me $4K doesn't seem outrageous for what you're getting in material and construction of the unit, plus its capacity, it must grab a ton of stuff in each bite!
I'd love to have something like that in an appropriate size and weight for my machine- but it seems like there's either light duty or unbreakable, and nothing in between in the grapple lineup- from what I've seen available.

My add on bucket grapple is made by one of our sponsors and their company name appears in your Kioti section, MIE. They make several styles-mine is 24" with a shipping weight of 300lbs. Pricing is on their website. Definitely has an overbite with attitude.

I like that unit for a bolt on add a grapple to a bucket situation. I have a MIE backhoe thumb which I like.
I wouldn't go with a add on grapple for my use personally because of the added weight reducing my over all lift capacity.
How's it working for you?

I bought the NH TC40S new in 2002 but she does sleep in in her own bay out in the shop. The paint on the bucket is new and so is the grapple.
For doing any serious loading work the grapple simply unpins leaving only the bolt on crossbar. The hoses have QCs on the loader torque bar.
