I bought a new grapple from Vassar Mfg in Perkins, OK. I got it all hooked up but am having a problem with it. The upper claws will not stay in place when I let off the valve. When I open the claws fully and then let off the handle they lose pressure and fall back down. The same is true for the opposite. I have borrowed another grapple and used it on this same tractor and didn't have this problem. I plumbed the hoses to the 'T' on the grapple. Is there some kind of a part or backflow or something that I should have also installed in the line? I topped off the hydraulic fluid after getting it fired up for the first time so I don't think that is the problem.

Thanks

JC

My grapple is plumbed similarly. Backflow valve would make it inoperable. Either your valve is not functioning correctly of the cylinders are leaking. The former is more likely...

Pics would be good. Like Rob, I hear the word "T" and I think dual cylinders or an alternate flow path...

JC, we definitely need more info to help you:

What tractor do you have?
Are you operating the grapple through a rear remote, or a electric valve or diverter on the FEL?
Any chance of a picture so we can see how its plumbed?
Are the two grapple cylinders in series with each other or parallel?
