Grapple or 4-in1 bucket

Just to clarify the grapple costs.....you can find an economy grapple for about $800 bucks these days. That's the direction I would go based on what you want to do. I seldom put my dirt bucket on anymore.
Yeap... WildKat and North American Implements sell them in the $900.00 range if you wheel and deal with them. They are two of the most popular on this forum. I just bought the NAI for $925 plus shipping. You can also get the 3rd function valve kit (Construction Attachments or WR Long) for about $800 bucks.

There's always the option of bolting the grapple clamps to your tractor bucket. You'll find the product page and video on our website here. That may be something to consider and may keep the "law" happy!! Those come complete with hoses and couplers and ship free to a commercial address or supporting freight terminal within 1,000 miles of Newton,NC.

At one time I considered a bucket grapple. One thing that bugs me about that grapple method.....is that the visibility to operate is severely limited. Then too...you likely will want a tooth bar in order to grub the brush or debris. I think the utility of the bucket grapple is fair to good for limited use....and sometimes it is better especially when oftentimes (or intermittently) needing the dirt bucket. But for heavy grapple needs I really like a dedicated "root" grapple. :2cents:

I would go with the grapple.

I also have both, the grapple and 4N1 bucket. The only time I use the grapple is for logging and branch work. The 4N1 bucket does most of the work for me though.

I got both implements from WR Long.

I'd go for the 4 in 1 if most of what you do is dirt work.

I am exactly the same way. WR longs, too.

I think the regular bucket is around $400 So the would make the 4 in 1 $1800. I would just buy a cheap grapple.

Grapple all the way. It takes all of 30 seconds to change it out..

Had a tornado hit our place a year ago, still cleaning up downed trees, and will be for a while on my 150 acre+ farm as well as the 3 acres at the home place. The EA root grapple is the single most useful implement I have ever seen for the issues that I have. If I had a lot of dirt work to do, the 4in1 would be a consideration, but it would be a separate purchase as the root grapple is worth its weight in gold to me when I am working alone on tree cleanup.

I think of the 4 in1 as a tool better suited to a larger, heavier machine. On a industrial size TLB you can push a bunch of dirt. Smallish Kub or equal might be frustrating.
Grapple is easier to see through and much lighter. I see your dealer is recommending the six foot 4-1, though it looks like Kubota says five foot fits your rig. The bigger one will prove to be a heavy bucket for everyday use.
My vote is with the others: get the QA regular bucket and a light grapple.
