When purchasing a grapple, does it come with the hoses and the additional hydraulic function to operate the teeth? I have the 2555 w/ FEL. Or is that something extra that the dealer has to install? Also, if I already have the 4 way controller from the FEL, is it a whole new controller or a separate controller for the grapple teeth function?

The control for the grapple is typically not included in the cost of the grapple. You can either use your existing rear remote, (most cost effective) or get what is known as a loader 3rd function valve. There are 2 different types of 3rd function valves, a diverter 3rd function, (this is what Mahindra uses) or a true 3rd function.

My advise is to not get the Mahindra factory 3rd function valve, it is stupid expensive and can be had from an after market source for about $1000 less and is every bit as good if not even better than the Mahindra valve.

The control will be a switch or switches in a new control grip that will need to be installed on the loader joystick.

These 3rd function valve systems typically run $800-$1000, depending where you purchase from.

Enjoy your new grapple.

Does anyone have a close up pic of what the third function controller looks like at the handle as well as the extra hoses coming from the grapple itself? Also, reference using the rear remote, would I just use extra long hydraulic hoses to reach the rear remote? Thanks again in advance!!!

I used a Hurst "Sidewinder" shifter knob with a nitrous button ... about $50 from Summit Racing:

We use the rear hydraulics and hoses running up to the front.
Here is a lengthy thread about the EA Wicked Root Grapple that answers many questions.
We are very pleased with ours.

If you do go the cheap route with using an existing rear remote valve set, don't forget to put an extra set of Quick Disconnects in the middle at the FEL break point so that you can still remove your FEL without having to unfasten your new hoses. Also keep in mind how convenient the actuation of the rear remote lever will be. I had to lengthen my control lever so that I could more conveniently operate it while still keeping my hand on the main joystick.

Here is probably the most common for a true 3rd function system.

Here is a Scorpion control grip. You can have either a trigger switch or thumb switch with this type of grip.

If you do this yourself, you can have the valve anywhere you want, not some pre determined location.

Here is a WR Long third function kit that I purchased from EA. (Everything Attachments) It plumbs in right there at the loader control and the button to control the grapple lid is the switch on top.

Here is a shot of the two hoses that run from the third function to the front. Basically follow the main lines from the loader control and then splice onto the lines from the grapple just after the cross bar on the loader. Some just lay them there, some use brackets like this and others use elevated springs to keep the hoses from getting pinched in any pinch points. Good luck!
