There are two types of grapples. Long bottom and short bottom. Of the long bottom grapples, one type can fuction as a land plane which is used to level ground, while another type is a better at going after roots. The short bottom grapple cannot be hand-filled with material, while the long bottom grapples can be hand-filled. The short bottom grapple is much better at removing brushy root systems due to the better leverage of its moment arm.
