Has anyone put a Grapple, Root Rake, or a 4N1 bucket on an L3830. If so which make and model. I need to move fallen trees and piles of brush and wanted a heavy duty unit but I am concerned about the weight of the bucket itself.

Any advice or info would be great help.

The attachment shows my W R Long root grapple I intend to put on my L4330 once its plumbed with front hydraulics. I don't think weight will be a problem since brush and small trees are light. Maybe a huge tree trunk would slow it down but you can always push them instead.

As far as advice, conventional wisdom on this board is to get an implement as wide as your rear wheels. That's not necessary for a grapple, in my opinion, as I see no advantage for the extra width. You can save weight with a narrower one and use it in tighter spots.

That makes sense, regarding the size of the grapple. Less weight makes for more lift and you generally not moving through the material in question, you'd be taking bites and coming back for more.
