Grapple Selection for Kubota L2501

Hi there,

Just got my 2023 Kubota 2501 with a LA526 and 3rd function last week so I'm definitely a newbie here. My primary use for the tractor is to do light clearing of my lot in central Texas with tons of whitethorn acacia and runaway muscadine grape choking out anything and everything in the area. I thought a grapple would really help. I appreciate all pointers, especially if you think something else might work better than a grapple.

I'm not familiar with either acacia or muscadine grape. So......... you might want to consider a grapple with closer tine spacing on the upper lid. Be very careful though. Get too aggressive with scraping with the grapple - something could get damaged.

You might want to consider a brush rake mounted on the 3-point. Rake everything up with the brush rake. Pick up the pile and move it with the grapple.

I have a root and rock grapple. It's heavy duty in the extreme. I use it - carefully - to gather pine tree limbs. My concern - the grapple catching on a rock or root as I gather. Because of my concern - I will usually only gather when driving in reverse. The tines on the upper lid will not catch on things - they will hop over immovable objects.
I have used this grapple for nine years and have had no bad experiences using it in this manner.

Depends on how deeply rooted those plants are. You could bend your loader arms. And how bad are the thorns on the whitethorn acacia?

I suggest you start off with a chain to the drawbar with a pipe puller on the other end. Like this: Front-End Loader - Danuser Intimdator
