I can’t get the Kioti third function kit right now, any option to use the rear remotes so I can use my grapple while I wait for the third function kit? Is it a pain to use or even possible? Thanks!

You can do it and it will work just fine. It's just not super convenient to constantly have to move your hand from the joystick to the remote valve every time you want to open or close the grapple.

The third function will be much more convenient because you will just press two buttons on the joystick.

For the time being, the remotes is a good solution. You'll need a couple long hoses, fittings and quick disconnects to get it going.

I have been using my rear remote for my grapple for a number of years. Due to the favorable placement of the OEM rear remote SCV lever, with just a little lengthening of that lever, I have convenient "fall to hand" use for my grapple. It was the ideal solution for me.

Welcome to TBN.

There are a LOT of Grapple users on this forum. With a LOT of varieties in their setups. You'll get several ideas here. James' setup works very well. As he said, due to his rear remote control lever location.

Might as well pick a good secure route for the hoses in case you decide to leave them. Also plan ahead to add a pair of couplers if you choose to stay with your setup. This allows you to remove the FEL with minimal effort.

I use all three of my rear remotes on the Kubota almost all the time. I only have two on the Ford and wish it had a third. Good pics Lou.

Yep, $150 (2013 prices) and some time and fab work on my part, I am still very pleased with the install. But if your remote valve control lever is inconveniently placed, then it would not be so pretty. Also one advantage to my setup, vs. a electric/hydraulic setup is the ability to "feather" the speed and pressure if needed. My pump is pretty high volume (almost 10 gal./minute) so the grapple lid will close with a bang if you give it full flow.

Nice job Lou. I ran mine off the rear also. I installed a set of quick disconnects just under the loader disconnects. I still need to make a bracket for the front of the loader. Using the rear remote lever for your grapple bucket is no big deal. I like my ergo Kioti knob. I don't like the Kioti 3rd function knob. Not to mention paying $1250.00 for a kit or $1500.00+ installed.
