Grapple valve set-up

There are also a few dealers on TBN that you can buy the valve kit from and they can drop-ship it to you, it can all be done over the phone with a credit card.

My point exactly Ken, no brainer to me.

John,

I think it's great your building a grapple and desire to assemble all the hydraulic components yourself. Doing that is a huge savings and satisfying that you "DIY" ("Did it yourself") The apparent "inflated" price for "turn Key" hydraulic grapple setups accounts for the supplier doing all their research (homework) assembling all the right components, writing install manuals, re-packaging, painting, insurance, warehousing, inventory, taxes, payroll, building rent, employees, potential litigation and the likes. Add to that untold hours on the phone monitoring and replying to e-mail, blogs and forums etc. supporting and educating customers or "DIY'ers" asking endless questions, after all that with any luck they might make some meager profit. Enough of that....

Anyway I hope the following answers your joy stick and switch question:

When I built my grapple I got the joystick switch handle from Scorpion technologies. Below are all the links.

S series handle

It's an outfit in Canada with a toll free US phone number. They are easy to deal with. Three and a half years or so ago the complete setup (handle with switches and cable) was ~ $150.00 more or less.
Tell them you were referred by someone at TBN and ask for a discount. Don't know if you'll get a discount but what they hey, it's worth a try right?

I have already been in touch with "another member" twice and he happens to have a MX 5100 which has the same hydraulic system as mine.
I was exploring my options then and I still am as I am not in a huge hurry and doing it myself is a learning and rewarding experience.
Believe me I am well versed in buying on the Internet and having things dropped shipped!
I really do appreciate the information that knowledgable people in hydraulics have to share.
I am a certified Contractor in Fl and when people ask me building questions I try to help them if I can
Of course building in Fl is in sad shape right now and it would be nice to save some money or get a nicer set up for less,
Thanks for your responses
John
