grapple vs 4 way bucket

   / grapple vs 4 way bucket #12
I posted photos from my old tractor. I now use a Kioti DK40se with a loader lift capacity of 2700+lbs and use the same grapple. I've never wished I had bigger and the 48 inch light duty grapple has done all I've asked.

One other advantage of the narrow grapple is when digging roots you are putting your breakout force into a smaller area and hence put more on the roots or rock you are interested in and don't waste a lot of the force on irrelevent ground on either side.

Here are a few photos from the new tractor plus same grapple:
We had a small grapple and hated it. The 72" works out much better for what we use it for. Granted yes some times a narrower one might work alittle better, but for us the benefits of a larger grapple more than out way the cons.

Like I said earlier, what works for some doesn't work for others.

I really prefer the 4n1 buckets myself. If you are truly looking for maximum versatility I think that is the way to go. WR Long makes some REALLY nice 4n1's. I have had both their's and JD's for my JD tractors and personally prefer the Long buckets. They make both grapples and 4n1's for all the major brands. Not cheap, though.
