Grapple Grapple without additional Hydraulics

Was unaware of such an animal. Perhaps my life is sheltered, but Westendorf offers a tool called the brush crusher. A grapple that operates without the necessity for a third function. Those that are aware will simply yawn, with that "where have you been smirk", others may go take a look. No link provided, where is the fun in that?

I saw them at the national farm machinery show. If it wasn't for that I probably wouldn't know they exist.

Anyway it appears a novel concept as some posts indicate members are hesitant to purchase a grapple due to the wide variety of costs associated with adding third function capability. Will try to get out more in the future, just passed up a large farm show last week in Syracuse, guess that was a mistake.

Really like that idea! If they will work with a SKQA I would be a buyer probably!

Got to be priced better than a $1500 grapple and $800 3rd function.

I’m certainly aware of the phrase but if you ask me how I know about it, I googled up “Grapple” and all sorts of information was presented. I was in the market for a grapple when I learned about that unique grapple but settled on an ANBO grapple. If I could do it, so can you. Try it sometime on your computer in the search bar of your favorite search engine. It’s an amazing feature.

The fear with these is that the two "grapples" are not rigidly linked together, so they can twist when picking up uneven loads. A guy on the GTT forum tried one and the center "timing rod" between then two sides broke- that means the loader arms where flexing.





Something I wrote in that thread, there are many good points discussed too.

The issue of "rigidity" as we are discussing comes from the fact that with this implement attached there is nothing tying the two arms of the loader together anymore except for the round tube between the arms. With the bucket, forks, or traditional grapple attached the implement itself helps to tie everything together. Will this be enough? Only time will tell.
