It weighs 300 pounds and sits at least a foot in front of your quick attach plate. You'd be lucky to lift 400 with it.

Adjustable forks would be nice; like you I find the PT forks too narrow a lot of times.

But since those forks weigh 200# more than my forks, that is a non-starter. I pick up stuff at or beyond my capacity all the time, and I wouldn't give up an additional 200# of lift capability.

I totally agree about the weight. I already have the or forks but was thinking about these also. Then I would have the or forks for heavy loads and the Titan forks for wide loads

You're also going to have to add/subtract some mounting material and a quick attach. That may add or subtract weight as well. As long as you are aware.

I know if I use my large bucket I can fill it with patio blocks and tip on my nose fairly easily. I also have picked up some huge logs (for a 1500 pound machine) with the PT forks and tip on nose from time to time. I wouldn't want to add too much weight out away from the quick attach plate if at all possible.

Anyone know what the PT grapple bucket or utility grapple weigh?

Don't know the exact weight, but I'd guess the Class 8 grapple bucket to weigh about 100 lbs. I can wrestle it around fairly readily when unmounted.

The Power -Trac 29" T3424 Utility Grapple seems to be a better solution for your PT-425. $800

I keep looking at that factory utility grapple and I'm convinced I could bend it with abuse. I bent the forks with abuse, rather easily, too. Using them to pry stumps out of the ground.

I like the looks of their grapple bucket, though.

I used mine a lot since 2010. It's heavy iron - not easily bent. I have never bent it. I recently move a tree that had fallen across my road -probably 500 lbs.

That's good to hear. I have a few things on my wish list. :)

I've posted these before, but here's a couple examples of how much brush you can move with the Class 8 grapple bucket.... Note that these are not piles of brush, but actual bucket loads enroute to the burn pile.

grapple bucket is handy to have around.......have used it to haul away a refrigerator.......get rid of a wood stove insert in the house......load a dumpster.......help a neighbor pull a sleeper sofa out of his house........plus it's really menacing looking when I drive along the road.....lol........Jack

+1 for the Utility Grapple. Bought the utility grapple last summer--BEST back saver ever! Use it to for moving rocks, shrub/tree trimmings, logs, grading, etc. The grapple is (guessing) 3/8" thick plate steel.

Watch PT for a sale/discount. Last year I purchased the 60" mower and the grapple @ 15% off. There was no appreciable increase in shipping the grapple with the mower. This helped justify the purchase of the grapple--in my mind anyway.

I am trying to figure out a way to adapt a grapple to my pt pallet forks and make it removable when needed. I think I would use it more in that configuration than a bucket with a grapple. I know I will come up with something.

You could do something like I did. 3 pins and it is all off but the bracket. Just mount it to the pallet forks bulkhead.

Ok I like that. Didn't think of removable pins, that would work for me. Thinking of making a steel riser block to mount back at the base of the forks. About 2-1/2 to 3 inches wide and 6 to 8 inches high and mount the grapple to the top of it. Now mounting it to the forks is what I'm contemplating now. Drill and bolt on or sleeve the riser and make it clamp on.

First and foremost this is not as easy as you might think. actually imo there is a lot going on you have to consider..

First, as an idea, we were just discussin this

Hydraulic clamp for pallet fork - MultiOne

So in my opinion this will work. You will need to make a template of your grapple and hyrdaulic ram to make sure all the angles work without binding. Cardboard or plywood cutouts and accurate as you can.

Second is how wid are you making it and do you need to design a way to keemp the bottom bars from sliding in and out.

On my grapple, a long rod holds the grapple in place and pulling a pin on the hydrualic ram and taking out the rod removes the grapple from the base.
