Grapples in stock?

flashpuppy & jchonline - - another thought. See the second picture of just my grapple in post #4. I have all the hydraulic lines wrapped in that extra heavy duty spiral wound protecting wrap(high density polyethylene). It like the spiral wound cord on your old telephone only its flat - about 3/8" thick by 1" wide. Its so darn tough I had to cut the lengths with a fine blade on my reciprocating saw. And the wrapping that stuff around the hydraulic lines - better have tough fingers - for sure.

I have all the "open & exposed" hydraulic lines for the grapple and from the rear SCV valve in back serving the hydraulic top link wrapped with that stuff.

Every little bit helps and may just prevent a really bad day..........

In the BEEEG city - Spokane. There is a company - House of Hose - that specializes in everything dealing with hydraulics. I saw the stuff used on a front mounted rotary mower used by a local contractor. He had it on his hoses because so much crap came flying out from under that forward mounted mower.

So - fat, dumb and happy I go to the House of Hose. Land 'O Goshen - they had at least a dozen different sizes, types and diameters and in four or five colors to boot. So I nose around - sneak out and go to the Kubota dealer to find out what size the hose is on my tractor. They had white, green, red and black. No Kubota orange - so I chose black.

I would really love to get an EA Wicked 66 grapple, but I do not think I can wait eight weeks... I need to get some stuff done and putting it off until the end of January is not an option.

Who has some good grapples for an M7040 in stock?

I wanted an EA grapple but like you I did not want to wait. I bought a Construction Attachments grapple from EA and got it in just over a week. I think the quality of the CA grapple is great

I was told by the salesman I dealt with that the owners of both companies are brothers so EA would stand behind the CA product like it’s their own

One other note - I was considering the purchase of a Brown rotary cutter. Then I checked on the cost to ship from their plant in Georgia to the Spokane area. Estimate was right around $1750. I think that cost represents some type of priority shipping though. The freight on my Land Pride was $250 from wherever to Spokane. The grapple waits until they get a full truck load and then items are dropped off on the way to the Spokane area. The local Kubota dealer orders implements by the truck load so the divvied up cost for one implement is considerably less.

The grapple I got from the dealer was already out in their lot on a field pallet - no waiting what-so-ever. And they had the WR Long third function controller already in stock.

I wound up buying a grapple from MTL attachments like October 30. I had it the first week of November. I’ve been extremely happy with it. It was like $1000 bucks delivered. I mean, even if I destroy it and buy a second one, it’ll still be cheaper. I’ve given a thorough workout so far and have ZERO complaints. I would highly recommend this to anyone. I also picked up a set of 4K pound pallet forks for an additional $500.

$1500, delivered, got me a nice grapple and great set of forks in under a week. I’m sure EA grapples are nice, but it wasn’t meant to be on this time around.

Grapple in action.

As a neat side note, this was made by and shipped from Loflin Fabrication which is right down the road from me in Denton NC. Greg and Terry are the owners and are super nice guys. I almost took a job with them but we just couldn’t get together on the numbers.

I'm also very happy with mine from MTL. Used extensively to cleanup 6 trees down from the last hurricane. For a double jaw general purpose unit, I don't think it can be beat for under $1k. No 'in use' pics at the moment, but will add on my next job.

So why is significantly less expensive to buy an EA grapple or snow plow and ship it from back east than to buy from and pick up at ANBO who is only 100 miles from my location in Idaho?? Reputation and quality seem to be comparable.
