Grapples seem to be popular, so I bought one too. MTL 66 inch

You will find the grapple to be one of the best things for using the tractor. I purchased my first FEL and grapple this year. My son has had a FEL for some time. I use it, my bucket and my hay spear all the time.

I have gotten really lazy. I do not drop the grapple to get the spear anymore. I simply bight the spear with the grapple and then move hay around as normal.

flashpuppy - can't you just take a big bite into whatever hay you are moving with just the grapple - and lift/move it that way?? I've helped the neighbor move some of his square bales with just my grapple. Now, if you are talking round bales, well, I really couldn't say if they would hang together with just the grapple.

I would hate to ruin one. He loads them on his "feeder truck" and they spools off the two side mount hydraulic spear arms. You know what I'm attempting to describe.

I'm really glad I don't get involved with the round bales. The deer/elk eat the dead centers out of the round bales. He, understandably, gets pretty upset - they are loose, difficult to load that way, and never spool out quite right. One time I DID say - "well, the cattle don't seem to mind". I got a look that could have melted a brick wall.

I spoke with the freight company today my grapple came in today. The freight company is hr and half away, will have to pick it up next week after Christmas. Work and hunting got in the way. Big trucks can’t make it down the narrow twisty roads to my property.

I should be able to get to the freight company next Thursday. My third funtion kit did come in may have time tomorrow to look at where I plan to mount it before I have to head back to Houston for Christmas. Living in one place and my tractor in another is not always productive to get my projects done.

Enjoy your new toy I mean grapple I’ve learned when trimming up my trees don’t cut limbs in short pieces leave them long easier to pick up instead of little pieces
