Howdy all,

I have a L2501 and have been researching grapples heavily. I came to the conclusion that I needed a EA 55 Inch Wicked Root Rake Grapple from everythingattachments. However when I called this afternoon they are telling me there is a 12 WEEK WAIT!!!!

I don't have that kind of time and would really appreciate some opinions on alternatives that you can actually buy today?

I did the wait and it was more than worth it. That being said, if I was in a bind for a grapple I would try to borrow or rent a grapple while I was waiting on my EA Wicked. If I couldn't borrow or rent, I would buy the cheapest available then sell it when my Wicked got here.

If that doesn't work then get a set of pallett forks and add the hydraulic upper to use until the Wicked gets here.

I have many postings/pic's in the Wicked thread and have logged hundreds of hours on my Wicked Twin (72" twin lid). It adds at least a full dimension to your tractor.

They are that good.

You can buy my EA Compact Wicked Root Grapple 50" today & I'll wait 12 weeks for the 55" Root Rake (Shipping not included) :D

But seriously though - you have been given lots of great advice on watching the weight of whatever you buy so as to maximize the lifting capacity of your loader. What's the point in grabbing it with your cool grapple if you can't pick it up?

And as for the long lead time on EA products, well it's kind of like the old joke about Why are divorces so expensive? Because they're worth it!

IF EA wasn't building a quality product at a fair price then they wouldn't have such long lead times.

I am fully convinced that a grapple (in general) is the most useful attachment a FEL can have that it should come standard and buckets should be options. I'm sure you will love whatever you get and find ways to use it you haven't even thought of yet. But I also think you'll never regret buying a EA made grapple if you decide to wait.

Best of luck with whatever you pick.

Thanks for the business, guys, and for sharing your first hand experiences! We're fortunate to have guys like you and I can't say it enough.

It's ironic that I just stumbled upon this video 10 minutes ago. It is so relevant to this thread!

We're just facing higher demand than ever could've imagined, but we're working on a remedy to more efficiently feed this Wicked Monster we've created.

When are you going public, so can I buy stock?

I waited 8-1/2 weeks for mine...but it was well worth it!
So would 3-1/2 weeks more :cool2:

This weekend is 8 weeks since my order on my 60”. I was told 12 as well, it sounds like a long time but in the grand scheme I will gladly wait and push a few projects back to get exactly what I want.

Best of luck with your decision

EA makes very nice grapples but I liked the WR Long 48 OB2 better in your weight range. Much larger opening and VERY well built. AND being only 48 wide it fits between the wheel wells in my pickup to transport between properties. Again, EA makes nice grapples but they are not the only grapple out there. You have choices.

The lower priced ones seems to always be lacking in something. I do not know why there is not more competition in the lower weight range grapples to drive down prices.

I think it is wrong for a TBN advertiser to run down a competitor product in this case EA vs Land Pride. The buyer will make those decisions. There are lots of valid choices.

I disagree with some of your statement. I see nothing that Travis said wrong. He actually said he wouldn't consider them junk , but went on to explain why he believed EA was better. It's pretty hard to make a decision without valid information. Something EA has always been willing to provide. Buyers do make decisions every day... some good some bad, but most manufacturers aren't willing to respond candidly with the public with the why's and how they build their product. I'm sure Land pride or any other company is welcome to this site to provide the information buyers need to make that decision... if they chose.
