I don't know why everybody's got to have these fancy grapple buckets they can't do any more than a pair of pallet Forks on it the front of a tractor with a grapple I think that is a better method anyways. So why do you need to have so many more tools than what you actually need. Pallet Forks on a tractor can pick up many more things than just pallets they they do a great job with the Sawmills and loading logs

but they are pretty terrible at picking up large piles of brush in one go, leaves, or grubbing brush. though i use the forks much more than my grapple

We just aren't as smart. I try, but I have to work with the brains I got. Plus they make me feel pretty.

I get the feeling that you have never owned a grapple. I also get the feeling that you have not read this thread from the beginning or you would see many things done with a grapple that can't be done with pallet forks equipped with a grapple lid.

Try this with pallet forks with a lid:

Ok .... now you’re just showing off Xfaxman!

When I bought my first grapple, about 8 years ago, I thought “what was I waiting on?”

That 84”, dual lid, has rarely been off my 100 HP tractor.

I regularly swap between bucket, tree puller, stump bucket, 73” Single lid grapple on my 55 HP tractor.

I think you are saying that a set of forks with a grapple lid to clamp the load can pick up more things than a traditional grapple. There is a lot to what you say if the lid opens wide enough to still use the forks to lift a tall pallet load. I do not know about lifting more things than a grapple, but you can lift a lot of things. I am surprised that fork grapples are not more available.

You can actually do more with set of forks with a grapple on it then you can with a log grapple because a log grapple you have to run your Hydraulics so that you're on top of the log. Where as a set of forks you can go underneath the log and just grab it

You could be right. However, I have to clean up the stump piles from when I had my 2 acre field cleared, and I don't see how pallet forks would be very useful for that.

So ..... you don’t own and have never used a real grapple? It’s ok to admit it. Your supposition makes you seem naive or un-informed.

:D Naw, if I was showing off, I would post these pictures. But I could carry them on the forks without a grapple lid:
