Grasshopper 725D won't start and then starts next day.

I have a couple year old Grasshopper 725D that will start one day and not the next. I've fiddled around the last time it wouldn't start but found nothing wrong. All fuses, drive handle, seat and brake safety switches apparently OK. Next day it starts. 250 hours.

For a guess, I'm going to replace the seat and brake switch thinking it's an intermittent failure. Good idea? What else commonly fails? Anywhere else to look?

Won't start. Does that mean it turns over but won't run when you turn the key, clicks when you turn the key, or does nothing when key is turned?

Nothing when key is turned. No crank. When I pull a fuse, I can hears something like a solenoid click but it's just nothing when I turn the key. Lights and dash works, etc.

It started this morning after an hour of trying to figure it out last night.

I had a 721 that acted up like that, it turned out to be a curcit board in the right console, I had bought it used from a dealer, but they replaced that board under warr. and it never gave another problem.

My 725 has been flawless since new and it's several years old now. I REALLY like my 725, it was one of those "buy once, cry once" deals. lol

I despise safety switches so I always keep a paper clip handy to disable them...

Did the dealer diagnose the circuit board and did the mower have to quit in order for them to find the problem?

My 725 gas is a little touchy as you need this lever here set, brake set, butt planted, stars aligned, humidity stable, etc.
So, . . Fiddle with your settings as you're holding the key to see if you have a switch somewhere that needs an attitude adjustment.
I love that machine tho.

Both of mine were diesel.

I used it until it became a common problem and then let the dealer figure it out, it was under warr, so no need for me to fidde with it.

Could also be the ignition or key switch getting finicky. If you can access the starter solenoid I would pull that wire and connect to a voltmeter and then start playing with different safety switches to which ones kill power to that circuit. With wire removed starter won’t turn so less danger of unwanted movement.
I would suspect that operator presence (seat switch), possibly brake lever switch, both joy sticks and PTO switch are in that circuit so lots of options to pick from.
