Turn the engine over at night and see where your spark is going.
Had a similar issue on a car, where the spark would jump to the ground before it got to the plug on days with high humidity through a smaller than hairline crack, it drove me nuts as any other day the car ran perfectly, introduce rain, or high humidity and all of a sudden it ran like crap. I finally figured it out when I got it started at night and saw the spark jump off the coil to the ground, only then did I find the short.
