Gravity fed water supply

How will you set up at the spring for supply and keeping unwanted goodies out of the water supply?:)

Spring fed water supplies are not at all uncommon in the Mountains. My friend in North Carolina just went up the mountain 120' or so; stuck a 1" poly pipe into the creek and brought the pipe down to the house. He had around 50 psi all the time. He put a sign further up the mountain that said "No peeing in the creek" I don't think it helped much though.

for my folks - they capped off the area where the water was coming up. over the years it became a swamp so the unwanted goodies is not accessible by animals by so much.

I will be following this thread, I have a spring on my place that I would like to use, but it is down hill of my building site. Keep the ideas coming.
