When it comes to greasing the frame and joints of the beast, are there any issues with grease compatibility of different greases?

I notice that the manual indicates Multipurpose NLGI-2 or NLGI-1. I have some walmart brand Hi-Temperature grease which is red in color, I don't remember much more about it. Is there any problem using this grease? I would hate to waste it, but it was under $2 a tube so it won't break the piggybank to replace.

I remember coming across an online chart for compatibility. But why go nuts looking for which grease for this and that. Simply use Molly grease on everything, it is EP rated, extreme pressure and sticks to everything, have used it for years without problems. I buy it in bulk 5 gal cans and reload my guns.

No issues john,

go ahead and use it as any grease has to meet the minimum API standards for lubrication. No worries pump away and wipe up the excess to avoid letting any get on the ground and possibly in your pets or dealing with slick rug rats that would play with it.

If it's a Kubota, I think you'll find the loader specifies moly grease (extreme pressure), while the tractor is a bit more generic.

X2  Yeah it costs a little extra, but not enough to give it a 2nd thought.

My Kubota loader manual doesn't, but I totally agree that it should. All it says is "SAE multipurpose" which to me is too arbitrary.
Doesn't matter, because my tractor, BH, and FEL all get Moly EP anyway.

Mower spindles additionally specify hi-temp grease.

I don't think "any grease" is the right answer, depending on the application.

My loader manual has conflicting data.

On page 7 it specifies SAE multipurpose grease and then on page 21 it specifies "extreme pressure" and containing Molybdenum disulfide.

My mower specifies EP Lithium grease. I will have to look at a label on the walmart stuff and see what it is made of.
