Grease cylinder rods for storage?

Our old tractor has never had anything on the FEL cylinder rods and is 28 years old. Kind of dusty around here, so I'll continue to leave the chrome plated rods dry. :thumbsup:

I've used Fluid Film too and found that I had to keep covering the rods after a few months and I didn't like it. So I found something else in a spray can:
Pro Form PF570
It sprays on and dries as a hard wax. I also put this stuff underneath my cars and that stuff outlasts FluidFilm by far. It also dries where FluidFilm is always wet until it is gone.

Does anyone think that as a precaution spraying them with FF could attract dirt and damage the seals?
