Grease fittings on CK30?

Whats wrong with the hour meter---i heard some posts how theyre run related to engine rpm and some not and some peeps got the new rig with a connector unhooked <font color="red"> </font>
It recorded up to 9 hrs and then stopped counting...tho the tach still worked. When I realize it wasn't working up around the 13 - 14 hour mark I contacted my dealer who got me a new complete meter clip as well as an FFT controller on its way within a couple days. Meanwhile he faxed me a copy of the applicable wiring and connector drawings with VOM readings to be taken so I could diagnose with some direction. The hr meter is working again after having disconnected and reconnected the FFT ...Tarnished spade lugs? There are very low level input signals and a resistance connection would be problematic for sure. I went ahead and swapped FFT's when the new one arrived just to be safe. I am going to install a backup 12V hour meter that runs actual clock time with the combination switch in the run position so I can check the accuracy of the proportional hour meter in the dash. I have a lot of trenching to do and like to run the engine at 1800 R's for BH work so I can calculate the additional offset on the OEM hr meter and see if it is accurate.

Good info! I know low volt connections can be problematic. Automobiles, like computers, use alot of 5 volt and less connections now days, which of course don't have much push thru bad connections.
With a bad hour meter reading to your advantage you could get a real decent trade in in 10 years when it only has 10 hours on it?? lol /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif
