Grease fittings

I haven't waxed a car of mien 15 or 20 years. Got the new DK40se last week and actually considered waxing it! A good tractor is so much more fun than a new car!
lol I hear ya Alien. She got all dusty last night doing the drive.

I'm probably going to get kicked out of here for this, but I actually waxed my tractor when I brought it home.:ashamed:

I'll grease those zerks before my next session. Thanks again all.

has any one tried them in a threading sizer? now im reely intrigued

I had to replace one and couldn't find any in amongst my lot that would screw in (properly) If they don't start easy, don't try it. They snap off real easy and then you have to get them out.

I have got thread guages but haven't bothered trying them. I go past my dealer on a regular basis so I might just grab a few to have on hand.

A couple of observations: If a greased joint had a sealed boot grease sparingly. If it is open to the weather pump in graese until clean grese comes out. If water comes out pump in grease until no more water comes out, the exception being a water pump fitting. Not many of those around any more. Most importantly WIPE the Dirt off before attaching the grease coupler. Grit and grease equal lapping compound, not what you want in your joints (well maybe in yours but not the tractors).Makes the coupler last a lot longer too.
I'm just a beginner on greasing, got started about 1954 in a service station, been doing some ever since.

hehe in my case i get water in the joints between winter and haying season. Ive been really happy with trc lube so far have a bunch of zerks to replace on my impliments since some are older then i am. :drink: Coyote machine has any one tried them in a threading sizer? now im reely intrigued

I did a while ago and don't remember exactly what I came up with but one size tap did fit fairly well. It seemed to be metric, but I've read here at TBN where MIE has stated that its BPT, (British pipe thread); I can't confirm or deny this theory, but I can say it is certainly plausible since no-one can find any matching zerks except through the dealer network.

Along a similar line, has anyone else noticed the odd size of the ROPS pins on their Kioti.
I lost one of mine and assumed there would be a standard size for ROPS pins. From memory the Kioti pin is a little over 15mm maybe 0.6 of an inch. Anyway after trying several pin suppliers I couldn't get a match and ended up forking out the big dollars for the genuine Kioti pin .

Beginner. Haha

I had actually did what you said before I read it.

I looked in the manual for the zerks and noticed I only had one on the rear of my ck30. The manual shows about five of them. Are mine sealed or something that's odd.

Can't speak to your equipment directly but here is a tip. If something turns, rotates or swings search the area thoroughly, especially the most illogical places for a fitting. Sometimes it is easier to find fittings by feel. Rub off any accumulated mud, dirt etc. in the area that looks like it should be greased and look it over thoroughly. If there is a spot you can't possibly get to with a grease gun there is a fitting there for sure. Good luck...

Aint that the truth, my new Kioti has a couple of "doozeys" that are hard to get to.. and why in heck could they have not put a right angle Zerk in, is beyond me.. Just 2 that I can think of that are a pain, but they are there on the pedal linkage.

Angle fitting cost fifteen cents and straight are only a dime, they have to save a nickle any place they can. They will sell you an angle fitting at the dealer for fifty cents that you can put in yourself, you don't need to save money.
