Grease stain removal

   / Grease stain removal #11
Gotta be careful with some chemicals on painted surfaces. Some will eat the paint as fast as the goop. And then there are the plastics.

I've used Gunk with pretty good results. It's intended for greasy engine areas (which of course are painted).

Another trick I've found that works as well as most others is that scrubbing bubble bathroom cleaner. It even takes splattered bug guts off grills and headlights better than most other specialty products.

I think the NON chlorinated brake fluids cleaners are LESS likely to bother plastic, but still might.

His Gunk idea will work well also.

Ok I just got to ask, how fast are you driving your tractor to get bug guts splattered on the grills and headlights ?

I use engine degreaser. Give it a couple of minutes then hose it off. I buy cans by the dozen. It's cheap and my wife uses it for stains on the pavers as well.
Safe on all paint.

I keep some Simple Green HD Pro in a spray bottle. Spray it on, let it soak, the spray with hose or pressure washer.

I use it in my 6L ultrasonic cleaner too.

My experience has been opposite. The non chlorinated has damaged some plastic and rubber while I haven't had a problem with the chlorinated. I use the CRC brand.

WD-40 is a safe on plastic cleaner. Works really good for getting adhesive off.
