I spoke with a mechanic today in regards to sealed vs zerk fittings. He said it is not a cost saving measure, it is all environmental based because of the exposed grease, leaks, and manufacturing of. I guess that makes more sense. Don't know if it is correct but makes more sense then saving a few pennies on a zerk fitting.
