The grease zerk on the opposite side of the gear drive gives me concern. I can pump grease into it....say 10 stroke or so.....and I don't find any grease coming out anywhere. (I realize 10 strokes is too much - but it doesnt come out anywhere.) Then after waiting a few minutes the....zerk lets much of the grease back out of the "reservoir" (bearing) I just filled.

It's done this since new. Anyone have the solution here?

Then it is probably greased and you have a really tight seal against the shaft so nothing escapes the bearing and what you are doing is just pressurizing it.

Mine took over 50 to get the grease to show I was determined to either pop the seal or see grease, didn't pop!

Mine has been doing the same. Doesn't seem to affect performance. I've had mine for about 3 years. I think charleyfarmall has the right idea. I still give it a few squirts every 10 hours of use.

Thanks for the responses. I had come to a similar conclusion earlier....but figured I should ask. A few grease pumps it is!
