Greasing battery terminals?

/ Greasing battery terminals? #21
Do you guys mean "flux paste" or "solder paste"? Solder paste has ground up tiny bits of solder in it and is used to solder things together all by itself, without additional solder. Flux paste is usually acid core which will attack electric wire. I don't think that either would be good for this use but what do I know???

And additionally, Harbor Freight sells a "battery Matt". I started using them on my Case tractors years ago. (Along with the washers mentioned earlier) It's a yellow felt looking material about 3/16" thick, treated to prevent corrosion of the battery box. They really do work well. Keeps the battery tray and hold-down hardware from getting all corroded up.

I am talking about "flux paste". Thick brown stuff that comes in a can. What I have is not acidic.
Sorry for the confusion.
