I grease 1000 RPM shafts every month. 540, once a year, sometimes twice if I really use the heck out of an implement.
When my front U-joint was installed at the factory it was put in backward with the grease zerk facing forward, making it impossible to grease without removing the driveline from the pto shaft. Even after making severe modifications (ie removing) most of the plastic guard it is still a pain. Somebody said they only grease theirs once a year. I do mine probably 10 times per year.
I put a copper washer under a couple zerks I needed to rotate. They align a bit differently with the washer under there.Put in backwards? Isn't that an angled zerk and screw in type? Pretty sure it is. If so, you just need to find a way to get a tool on it and turn the zerk far enough to where you can get a grease gun on it. Not a good idea to twist it off however.
