How often do you grease your mandrels & pulley on your MMM?

I squeaze about 5-10 pumps ea., every 5th mowing. Which is about every 8.5 - 9.5 hrs.

I grease mine every 4 to 6 hours of use with about 5 to 6 pumps of the grease gun. I use the high temp. grease in it. A lot of time's I will use 3 or 4 pump's after only a couple of hours use. I visited my dealer the other day and he said one new spindle assembly for the outer sides of the ZD21 Pro Deck would cost me about $360, (included labor) if I ever needed one. He said the center assembly would cost more to replace.

Every 3 tpo 5 hours. I can hear the difference if I wait 8 hours and then grease, so I figure it must be under lubricated at that point. It is much quieter after a greasing.

I have not mowed since ~ June 20th. I'm not sure I remember how. Know any good rain dances? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I grease mine every 10 hours like the manual says. I usually do 6 pumps. I also like to grease the heads every time I have the blades off until the grease starts to come out from underneath. That way I'm sure they're full. The first time I did this it took a LOT of grease before it started coming out. I guess with 6 pumps every 10 hours it wasn't keeping them full or they weren't full to begin with.

When I got my MMM on my B3030 this spring, there was a bearing with barely no grease at all. I added around 1/4 of a tube before the grease came out on the other side. I wasn't very happy about that.

I grease my bearing every 10 hours.

I tend to completely clean up the MMM deck and grease all the zerks every other mow. Each mow is about 3 hours probably, so I guess that's about every 6 hours....roughly speaking.

I agree with the other comments, grease is cheap insurance.

I grease all zerks after I finish mowing and clean everything up each time. A little over the top, but easy enough for piece of mind. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Me too; actually I think the plate on my MMM says to grease the spindles with every use - have to go look now I guess.

yes, grease is cheap, but I find it quite painful to remove the MMM even with the wheels rotated sideways. I have to do mine on a gravel driveway and it just doesn't work very well!

Can't you get to your zerks with the MMM installed? The only ones that are a stretch for me are the rear rollers. Other than that I can just lower the 3PH, pop off the two covers and go to town.
