Cool photo.. The persistent marine fog layer we have been experiencing has been hard for getting sun, but it has its upside in making for some neat images. CN's night hill job spots cars at Dock 6 as the Burns Harbor backs up to the shiploader. Duluth, MN - September 24, 2025 View attachment 4121849

Wife and I are about 1/4 mile from there as I type this. We didn't want to walk the trail behind it in the dark. We did see it all lit up from the highway.

They were backing cars onto the dock as we drove by before sunset.

It was nice to see Duluth-based USACE tug Billmaier and derrick barge Schwartz arrive back in town after working on a project in the Keweenaw. October 2, 2025...

I have no idea what they were doing in the Kewee.

When we were in Duluth last week, they were dredging outside of the mouth of the channel from the lift bridge. We watched them switch out a barge of sediment and take it through the bridge.

Not really dealing with great lakes boats just a potential nav hazard for Great lakes ships. I think to me anyway it shows all the unexplored areas under water even in large freshwater seas I bet they stumble upon one of the thousands of both documented and undocumented wrecks on the Great lakes.

It was very nice to see the Hon. James L. Oberstar departing Fraser Shipyards this morning on its way to CN Duluth for iron ore. The Oberstar has been at Fraser since June 17 undergoing repairs to its hull after grounding in the St. Marys River. Superior, WI - October 6, 2025
