Yea i have some of the large gap great stuff thats been exposed to rain and weather for probably 7 years or so and it has darkened but looks fine and still appears to be doing its job of filling the gap around some pipes in my well house.

Why does this site software still double post!!!! its been like 3 years or more since this started happening right?

Why? I've found that once it hardens, you can cut it and paint it any color you want. I usually run some caulking over it to smooth it out if it's going to remain visible.

This is with the closed cell version. The open cell version for using around doors and windows. It doesn't have any strength and pretty much falls apart to the touch.

Eddie

Correct.
We used to use foam to float out docks. We would paint 2 coats of water based primer to seal the pores followed by an oil paint to finish up.
Worked great until somebody bashed a boat and tore out a chunk.
My dock is floating on 6" of pink urathane foam and it never leaves the water. So far it has lasted 22 years!

Looking for the equipment to be able to do some large scale sealing. Just don't see the cans as being cost effective. Does anyone know where to get the equipment and supplies. Not having much luck on internet. Looked at the 600sqft tanks and maybe I'm just not understanding yells on them but seams I would need a lot of them. Any help please.

It depends on your definition of "large scale". You are right, the cans while convenient, add up quickly but there is a huge difference in price between the brands and suppliers. The one I showed earlier we were getting for $8 a can (when buying a csse of 12) and it outlasted the $17 great stuff 3 to 1.

I also used one of the 600 bdft systems for my basement just to seal the drafts. Once you pass a certain threshold, it makes sense to call in a spray foam contactor.

What are you trying to seal? You can't beat the accuracy of the cans on an applicator gun for small gaps, even miles of them. If you are trying to seal large areas (like a drafty wall) then they aren't the right option.

I have 4 20,000sqft barns. I am trying to tighten them up and make it easier to heat. 6 foot eves. I was looking for commercial equipment. As I know of a few more guys around that maybe interested in it also. They all have more barns than me. Figured it up and I was going to need 33 of the 600ft kits just to do one. That's like 30k. Needs to be more cost effective for me.

We have had a lot of it sprayfoaming done at work and it isnt cheap. Are you trying to spray the whole interior or just the seams?
I would get a couple of sprayfoam contractors out for quotes and possibly arrange with your neighbors to spray their places at the same time with the same crew to save on travel/setup costs.
Material costs will be cheaper per square foot to use a 55 gallon drum with a heated pumping system (like a contractor has), they should warranty their work and they will have less waste for a learning curve. If you do it yourself, look for bigger kits, 1200 board foot kits (such as FOAM IT 1202 Class 1 Open Cell Anti-Microbial DIY Spray Foam Kit - Weatherproofing Window Insulation Kits - Amazon.com ) are common and will generally be cheaper per SF than a smaller kit
You might look to find a cold storage warehouse near you and see if they recommend a particular company.

You don't want to use the 600 board, NOT square foot, froth packs for any job near that big. They can vary in consistency, and are somewhat date of mfg. time & extremely temperature sensitive, especially in winter months. They're good for a bathroom/kitchen remodel.
IMHO, you want your job done by a highly recommended professional outfit who can send you to see their existing work/customers. You could get a huge job quote for the all at once approach with your neighbors, and possibly save significantly.
The only place I know of even remotely near you is:Contact Windows on Washington Your Home Improvement Specialist

They are very active on another board I frequent: DIY Chatroom Home Improvement Forum
I suggest you contact them via the link above, and see if they can recommend a contact in your area. Also go to diychatroom.com and see out answers to your question there. They have many pros who answer questions about what you want to know.

Thanks will look at links. I did Google it but think I googled supplies not equipment sales so all I was getting was the 600bft kits.

Looking to mainly seal for better ventilation. Here's a picture of a wall panel.

image-2154735485.jpg

The building is modular built. Steel trusses every 10 feet. Boards cover them. Prefab panels between. Lots of air leaks here. The plastic is covering a hole where a ventilation curtain use to be. Added double bubble and metal to outside and just covered hole with plastic. No insulation left in wall. Bugs have eat it out. Looking at a high density closed cell foam. So I haven't decided if I want to do whole wall or just problem spots.

Thinking of buying the equipment because I think I could pay for it with labor savings.
