Great stump grinder

We had about 20 stumps around the property that finally got on my nerves enough to rent a stump grinder over the Labor Day weekend (it is, after all, labor day). This thing made mince meat of them. Had a couple of cedar stumps about 6' in diameter and a 3' monkey puzzle stump as well as numerous smaller ones. This thing was easy to control and can really get down deep under ground. Cost just under $300 for the day but it was worth it and it was fun. And it can get into tight spots that an excavator couldn't.

Nice looking piece of equipment. Grinding sure leaves a lot less mess than digging out stumps with a backhoe. Of course, If I show that photo to my grandson, his first question won't be about what it does, he'll want to know how fast it goes.
