"If you change to the WYSIWYG to type your replies,"

I give up , Bird, what is that? I see a lot of double posting, is that the new system, or operator error?

I can't seem to reply unless I use the "quick reply". The other one takes me into outer space! I don't mind except I think "quick reply" replies to the original thread when I want to reply to the specific poster. Hope it works better later......

Norm, I'm a computer dummy, myself, so there are many others who can better answer your questions. However "WYSIWYG" = What You See Is What You Get.

Click on "User CP" toward the upper left corner of the screen, then click on "Editing Options" in the left column, go to the bottom of that page to "Message Editor Interface" and select one of the options at the bottom. I changed mine (at least for now) to "Enhanced Interface - Full WYSIWYG Editing".

Now I don't know what I'm doing, except experimenting, so I don't know whether that's best or not, but at least it puts the "Smilies" on the right and gives you lots of options for typing responses.:D

What you said, in addition to clicking on "Go Advanced" seems to work for me. I'm much too old to have so many options to consider. This is worse than having to decide on medicare drug coverage.

Older guys! Come on Ernie, old!, what does that make me?

Guys, I know we're going through a lot of changes here but could you try and down size the pics you post. Not only does it hog valuable HDD space, pics can be larger than your screen size thus making it a requirement to scroll around the pic and then the viewer might miss what you are trying to show.

Example:
same pic but different scale. 1st pic is 1280x958 and 2nd 640x479. Both pics are smaller than the original 2280x1712.

I'm guessing it must also make a difference as to what you have your screen settings set for on your computer. Either of those pictures looks just fine to me, and either fits well within my screen with not scrolling needed.

Yes but there are a number of pics posted in the YM forum that are way larger than most screens. Personally I try not to post pics any larger than 800x640. Large enough for most to see clearly but no so large to be bigger than screen res.

None of the pictures are larger than my screen:confused:

Think neither of the 2 pics you posted in the "Almost There" thread that are 2048x1536 are not larger than many/most prople's screen?

Maybe your browser has the ability to resize a pic file to fit the screen but that is not universally true. My browser can but I choose not to.

Do as you please but please give some thought to others.

Enough said.

I went back and looked, and the picture was smaller when I downloaded it.
The old software required you to downsize it, this one does not. If you choose not to allow your browser to resize then I see that as your problem and not mine. I should not have to resize everything because you choose not to let it resize.

Will some one tell me how to make a picture smaller, so i can upload one when I need to.
Here is the program I use for most things graphic. http://www.irfanview.com/

Irfanview can open most type of files and can even convert many. Has the ability to view HEX files as well. Changing size is just a couple clicks away with many std screen sizes or custom size. Nice slide show capability. If you make changes to a file then then do a save, is automaticly does a SAVE AS so you don't overwrite the original file.

I wouldn't have a computer with out the program. Best thing it is free.

How do you make a browser, (Internet Explorer), resize pictures? Those pics, (600+KB), are huge on my screen.
