Remember my buddy stuck in France. He may not be leaving until this coming Thursday.
I think I would be looking at heading east from Europe rather than west. An ocean crossing is still an option but would take 4-5 days. They should call in the Queen Mary 2. It can take 3000+ passengers. Or look at repositioning cruises from Mediterranean to Caribbean.

My Buddy made it home. Gave him the week to recovery with family and business and than we got busy.

His home has 100+ jack pines that are dying. So we started thinning. We have a number of elderly folks in the area that would like trees removed and blowdowns removed so we spent a few hours at their places clearing.

We have piled about 75 logs. Mostly 12"+ at the small end - 16' long. There was one large pine - tractor winch and my buddy - that was 16' and 30+ inches at the butt. It was all the tractor could do to lift it. More weight on the rear would help. We bought the winch last weekend used. It is amazing and time saving to be able to run a line 150+ feet and pull out logs.

The pics show some logging and setting up of the used saw mill. My two friends share the purchase of the mill... I provide the tractor for access to the mill etc.

This week will be spent clearing up fire wood and getting ready for my road trip to Virginia. When I return it will be full steam ahead to get enough material to continue the green house - ya it's late! The concrete is in place... mixed just under a yard by hand... won't do that again!!!

The forks are newish... still have to weld a back fence/screen above them.

It's been a slow strange summer. Very hot up here - see thermometer! Didn't get as much done as I had planned. Greenhouse is progressing slowly. We milled a trailer load of wood last Sunday - rafters, headers, some more studs for doors, strapping for side and roof panels. We need to do floor boards and a few more joists.

Pics shows heat has been accomplished. It is slow work...

Enjoy.

Pics are not in order...

Things are coming along... now that the weather has cooled a bit.

I just need to lay plywood over rough sub floor and paint and it will be complete.
I have a few benches in place for plant trays along with lighting. I am reworking a centre
table that will be used for planting and as a general work table.

We have had 5 straight days of rain with major flooding in the general area and the province.
Some areas have received 10+ inches of rain. They are forecasting rain till Wednesday.

I will start planting tomorrow...

Pics are from 2 weeks ago... will update photos later.

Nice Dovetail there LE!

Project looks great, what are you planning to grow in there? Flowers/Veggies/use as cold-frame for seedlings?

Oh yeah, did you design this? (The greenhouse, not the dovetail. LOL!)

77,

The greenhouse will be used for growing lettuce, spinach and herbs this winter and for starting seeds in the spring. But, mainly it will be used as a layout space for furniture building etc when not in growing mode. I designed it based on matching the 'wing' on the other side of the building.

In summer it gets full sun from sunrise to about 8pm. During the winter months it looses the sun around 3pm but the sun sets around 4. Lights are on automatic timers for a 6am start - 8am shutoff and a 4pm start and 9pm shutoff.

I am also hoping to use it as a solar collector for warm air to help heat the other part of the building. I will be running an in-line fan to duct-work exiting from the top to two ducts that will feed the other two parts of the building.

Will post pics later...

TIA
